Jubilate Music Group has announced that effective immediately, it has acquired the Brodt Music Publications catalog.

This announcement comes from Mark Cabaniss, President and CEO of Jubilate Music Group and Lee Northcutt, President of Brodt Music Company.

Brodt Music Company was founded in 1934 by Cecil Brodt of Madison, WI. Its Charlotte, NC retail location provided music resources for the Carolinas and beyond for over 80 years.  It closed its physical location in 2013 but continues to fulfill mail and phone orders to customers.  Its music publications division began in the 1950s as a natural extension of its retail operations as regional composers approached Brodt to publish them.

Mark Cabaniss says “I am delighted for the Brodt Music Publications catalog to join Jubilate Music Group.  Being a North Carolina native, I have fond memories and great respect for the Brodt Music history, and sang or played many of its publications during my high school and college years.  Acquiring this catalog feels a bit like going home.”

Distribution of Kevin Mayhew Publications remains with Brodt Music Company.

The Brodt Music Publications catalog will now reside on the HW Gray imprint in the new Brodt Music Series.  Each publication has been digitally re-scanned and restored, with fresh, new covers.

The Brodt Music Publications catalog contains choral, instrumental, and keyboard works from prestigious composers such as M. Thomas Cousins, Margaret Sandresky,  Austin C. Lovelace, David Uber, and J. Jerome Williams.

Jubilate Music Group contains the Alfred Sacred, Jubilate Music, and HW Gray catalogs, among others.  These publishing catalogs contain a broad range of resources stylistically suited to meet the diverse needs of churches and schools. It publishes a complete catalog of choral, piano, organ, handbell, vocal, and instrumental publications, ranging from adult choral anthems, extended works and folios to music for children’s choirs and praise teams.
