Brodt Music Company was founded in 1934 by Cecil Brodt of Madison, WI. Its Charlotte, NC retail location provided music resources for the Carolinas and beyond for over 80 years. Its music publications division began in the 1950s as a natural extension of its retail operations as composers approached Brodt to publish them. The Brodt Music catalog is now a part of Jubilate Music Group, re-purposed as the new Brodt Music Series on the H.W. Gray imprint. The Brodt Series contains choral, instrumental, and keyboard works from prestigious composers such as M. Thomas Cousins, Margaret Sandresky, Austin C. Lovelace, and David Uber.
