Patti Drennan

Patti Drennan is a Grammy®-nominated, #1 Billboard charting composer known for creating music that is both powerful and accessible. An active writer with nearly 3 million copies sold, she has published over 875 choral octavos with ten major publishers. Her music has been featured at regional and national ACDA conventions, on GRAMMY®-nominated albums, and in performances at Carnegie Hall. Patti has also served widely as a clinician, adjudicator, and presenter, including multiple appearances at the Texas Music Educators Convention.

Her recording projects include Shelter in the Time of Storm; A Mother Daughter Christmas (with daughter Emily Drennan), winner of the IMEA Holiday Album of the Year; and her newest album, Echoes of Grace, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Traditional Classical chart. Featuring the Sterling Ensemble Los Angeles under Michelle Jensen, Echoes of Grace blends sacred and secular choral works and has earned multiple honors, including GOLD at the Global Music Awards, the World Entertainment Award for Best Choral Album, and the LIT Gold Award.

Patti earned music education degrees from Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma, then taught choral music for 28 years in Norman Public Schools, earning numerous accolades including Teacher of the Year and the Oklahoma Choral Directors Association Director of Distinction. She later served nearly a decade as Director of Music and Worship Arts at First Baptist Church, Norman, and continued in similar roles before refocusing on composing and symphony performances with her daughter.

A voting member of The Recording Academy, Patti also appears as an arranger on the Grammy®-nominated Aaron Lazar album Impossible Dream. She serves on the board of the Oklahoma Ambassadors Concert Choir, with whom she has received both the Maestro Award and the William S. Roche Award.

Patti was married to her high school sweetheart, Jim Drennan, for 54 years until his passing in 2022. She is the mother of two grown children, Emily, a New York–based performer and recording artist, and Adam, a senior software engineer, and proud grandmother to two grandsons.
