Prayerful and poetic, this Good Friday offering is unforgettable. The Denglers have created an anthem which dramatically paints the picture of Jesus’s first words from the cross: “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” A rich chorale-like opening gives way to a lyrical and gently layered Kyrie eleison section…followed by a hushed closing. Beautiful and deeply moving.
