Light of God
Item Number: 00-34816
Format: Choral Octavo
Voicing: SATB
Words and music by Keith Getty and Kristyn Lennox Getty / arr. Ruth Elaine Schram
Ruth Elaine Schram's arrangement of the Getty's hymn manages to be simple and majestic at the same time. The anthem is a prayer for goodness, truth and beauty to be in our lives and in the world around us even in the midst of darkness. Its prayer is that God, who is light, might banish darkness within us, that we might be refined by His holiness, and might in turn be God's light in the world. Much of the language is suggested by the writings of CS Lewis, to whom it is dedicated.
